STRIP METHOD (STRIP)
Strip is a method of obtaining follicular units in a donor strip area of non-balding hair at the back of the head and then transplanting in the balding area.
TECHNIQUE
With the Strip Method, a donor strip of non-balding hair at the back of the head is carefully evaluated under the microscope. Hair grows in small bundles called follicular units, spaced 1 millimeter apart and containing up to 3, sometimes 4 hairs. Between 1,000 and 3,000 specifically sculpted follicular-unit grafts are removed and implanted one at a time into tiny openings in the recipient, or balding area. The openings created for each graft are no larger than a pinprick.
THOSE WHO BENEFIT
Patients experiencing the following conditions are excellent candidates for the Strip Method:
- Male Pattern Baldness
- Female Pattern Baldness
- Previous Hair Transplants
- High Hairlines
